I'm back! And I'm so excited to be. I'm so glad that I have a blog where I can put my spare time to purposeful use. Meanwhile, other aspects of life have been demanding too much of my attention, and I always regret not being that type of organized person that gets all their work done under pressure. However, let's not forget that there are people that don't get that work done at all and I'm happy to know I don't fall into that category. Even so, I don't regard writing posts as work, much more as something to take my mind off tasks and deadlines and to relax. So here is my ootd :)
Over the knee boots have been everywhere this season, which actually makes me really happy! They have been a bubbling trend for a while but no one really paid attention to them a lot, I think partly because people thought that mid-length boots are probably just the same as the real deal. Well, they're not - over the knee boots are amazing. They elongate the legs like no other (props to you if you have a pair of them with high heels), they keep you ankles warm, which everyone makes fun of me for saying, but I appreciate the difference that it makes, and they're perfect for hiding the awkward length of a pair of pants that you otherwise love. In fact, these leather pants barely cover my calves, but I still got them because I liked the finish and how they fit me. The boots were naturally the perfect solution and totally made them winter-appropriate, too.
As a huge Rihanna fan, that went to her concert, and that has several pairs of FentyxPuma shoes (see here and here for fur slides, and here for creepers), I say this trend came to be because of her winter collection at Puma and because of her Manolo Blahnik thigh-high boots (you know the ones!!). She also wore some sick boots on her tour, and pretty much all of her outfits were pure perfection, but if I start admiring her here again, I'd fill the entire blog page.
Overall, the higher the boots got on the runway, the higher the ones in our closets. They're always the tuned-down version of the high fashion statements - when over-the-knee was popping, we had mid-lengths. Now thigh-high boots are all the rage in the fashion world, so we get over-the-knee. Let's see how far they have to go to convince us to wear even higher ones!
I like the mix of textures between the faux leather ants and the suede boots. It's the perfect way to add some variety to any outfit without having to add more color, which makes for a sleeker and more polished look.
I usually don't wear flowers, but something about this kimono caught my eye. Maybe it's not your traditional bright-colored floral pattern. Also, as I mentioned in my last post, to me, it feels like it's spring since I'm starting on a lot of new and fresh projects, and an outfit always reflects who you are at the moment.
I hope you enjoyed this post and I promise you, changes are coming. Posts will start appearing more regularly as I start becoming more organised. Within a week there will be a new post - I promise. Not only to you, but also to me. And I never lie to myself.
