There is more to Bulgaria than its capital city Sofia. There is a beautiful seaside (which we have to yet visit this summer), and, of course, with a population of around 7 million and shrinking, we have plenty of nature.
I personally am no fan of spending time outside - after all I'm a spoiled city girl that is scared of getting her hands (better yet shoes) dirty in any way. But my parents are annually nostalgic about this one place in the mountain close to Sofia that has some peculiar triangular villas. Sure, they look picturesque from the outside, but they are so compact on the inside, that I don't know if I should call them cute or suffocating. Anyways, I was able to squeeze in a photo shoot and the villas were big assistants in making the photos look cool.
At daytime my parents went hiking, but I'm a lazy piece of trash so I just stayed at the villa for most of the time. I came out later at evening, when we start grilling, which I think is probably everyone's favorite part of going "camping". The unique smell and flavor of charcoal on food just makes me drool. You could literally grill lettuce on charcoal and it would taste ridiculously amazing.
Can you tell I'm hungry while writing this post?...
Anyways, onto the outfit - what's a better place to put on a classic plaid shirt if not the woods. I have to admit this outfit was lumberjack-inspired, although I look nothing like a strong muscular woodhick that could swing around an axe for a living. But shirts like this are timeless, so really I can't go too wrong with one.
I decided to look less like a spoiled prissy by keeping my outfit simple and practical. A classic pair of jeans does the trick, accompanied by my black leather boots with red undertones that tie the colors of the shirt together with the rest of the look. My favorite piece in this outfit is for sure my jean jacket. Oversized denim jackets like this one are a bubbling trend that I've always found so cool on others, so I decided to also jump on the wagon. I love the way it adds bulk to my upper body and to me it seems like it even makes my arms look more muscular. (So that I look less ridiculous when saying that this outfit is inspired by lumberjacks!)
I think I dissed my time in the villas a little too much. After all it was nice to spend some time disconnected from the social media world, and to just look around and appreciate the beauty that is mother Earth. Relaxing like that in my homeland is a privilege that I should be thankful for.
I'll write again soon. Until then, have a wonderful time wherever you are!
